About Renee
Renee’s nursing journey spans ICU, Educator at the University of Newcastle, AOD, and DFV prevention specialist, culminating in her current role as Women’s Health CNC. Her dedication to women’s health grew alongside raising a family, building holistic knowledge that enriches her practice.
Key Achievements
- Leadership in all aspects of the Women’s Health role both as a WHN/DV Co-ordinator CNC and SANE.
- Provides exceptional clinical care and commitment to mentoring of new staff.
- Led Reclaim the Night committee and events across multiple sites for many years.
- Initiated the One Million Stars project and curated art installations for three years, with the project recognised in Parliament.
- Worked with community to establish women’s groups in the community.
- Active member of AWHNA since 2018; oversaw website updates driving record membership growth.
- Supported Family Planning clinics and upskilled staff, driving expansion of Women’s Health Nurse clinical skills.
- Negotiated and launched a menopause clinic within budget, improving VMO access for women.
- Advocated for and implemented a medical termination clinic for MNCLHD.
- Devised and Partnered with BreastScreen to provide onsite cervical screening.
- Advanced education initiatives across the lifespan.
- Achieved Medical Forensics qualification and contributed to policy development.
- Leadership on multiple committees to strengthen Women’s Health services.
Renee’s tireless efforts have safeguarded and advanced Women’s Health Nursing across the district.
